WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Methodist church in North Carolina said they will forgo marriages for heterosexual couples until pastors are allowed to officiate at marriages for same-sex couples.
WXII-TV reported the Green Street United Methodist Church has asked pastors to “conduct relationship blessings rather than marriage ceremonies in the sanctuary.”
The church said they plan to continue until the United Methodist Church as a whole changes its policies.
